នៅថ្ងៃទី២ ខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ផេកហ្វេសប៊ុកផ្លូវការរបស់ Royal Thai Army បានផ្សព្វផ្សាយព័ត៌មានអំពីការពង្រឹងរបងលួសបន្លា និងដាក់ពង្រាយរថពាសដែកនៅតំបន់ច្រកអូរស្មាច់ ក្នុងទឹកដីកម្ពុជាដែលយោធាថៃកំពុងកាន់កាប់ដោយខុសច្បាប់ ដោយអះអាងថាមានសកម្មភាពញុះញង់ពីភាគីកម្ពុជា។ ចំពោះការលើកឡើងនេះ អ្នកនាំពាក្យក្រសួងការពារជាតិនៃព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា សូមបញ្ជាក់ថា «មិនមែនជាការពិត និងគ្មានមូលដ្ឋាន»។ កងកម្លាំងកម្ពុជាតែងអនុវត្តភារកិច្ចដោយគោរពវិន័យយោធា បទបញ្ជារបស់ថ្នាក់ដឹកនាំ និងគោលការណ៍វិជ្ជាជីវៈយ៉ាងតឹងរឹង។ កងកម្លាំងកម្ពុជាបន្តប្រកាន់ខ្ជាប់នូវភាពអត់ធ្មត់ ការទទួលខុសត្រូវ និងការប្រុងប្រយ័ត្នខ្ពស់ ដើម្បីការពារអធិបតេយ្យ និងបូរណភាពទឹកដីជាតិ ខណៈពេលជាមួយគ្នានេះ ក៏បានខិតខំរក្សាបរិយាកាសសន្តិភាព ស្ថិរភាព និងការជៀសវាងភាពតានតឹងនៅតាមតំបន់ព្រំដែនផងដែរ។

H.E. Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows:

On April 2, 2026, the official Facebook page of the Royal Thai Army posted information regarding the reinforcement of barbed wire and the deployment of armored vehicles at the O Smach Border Checkpoint— Cambodian’s territory currently illegally occupied by Thai forces. The post alleged provocative actions from the Cambodian side. In response to this statement, The Spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to clarify that these claims are “entirely untrue and baseless.” Cambodian forces consistently perform their duties in strict compliance with military discipline, leadership directives, and professional principles. Our forces continue to uphold the highest standards of restraint, responsibility, and vigilance to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity, while simultaneously striving to maintain peace, stability, and the avoidance of tension in border areas.

Notably, the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) recently verified and reported on the situation at the O Smach International Border Checkpoint in Samraong City, Oddar Meanchey Province, on March 29, 2026. Despite this recent verification, at 6:20 a.m.

on April 2, 2026, the Thai military illegally deployed two armored vehicles and approximately 70 personnel to the crossing. Furthermore, they reinforced barbed wire in areas under illegal occupation and conducted military operations without prior notification to the Cambodian Military Region 4 Liaison Team. Following these provocations, the Cambodian Military Region 4 Liaison Team immediately contacted Thai Military Region 2 to demand an immediate cessation of these activities and called upon the Thai military to return to and respect all standing agreements.

It must be emphasized that since the ceasefire took effect, the Royal Government and the Cambodian forces have remained steadfast in their commitment to the full and responsible implementation of the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) dated December 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand dated October 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements. In this regard, the Ministry of National Defence calls on the Thai side to reciprocate this consistency, goodwill, and honesty to ensure a return to normalcy, peace, stability, and long-term security along the border.

The public, as well as national and international journalists, are hereby informed of the facts regarding this matter.
